What Should Be Reported
You should report anytime you witness an animal whose welfare is endangered. Examples include:
- Animals that have been or are being beaten, burned, cut or otherwise abused.
- Animals whose basic needs for food, water and shelter are being neglected.
- Animals that are left outside in freezing temperatures without adequate shelter, unfrozen water and food.
- Animals that are tethered on chains less than three times their own body length or tethered in a choke collar.
- Animals that are being tormented or used for fighting purposes.
- Animals that appear to be severely underweight or starving.
- Animals whose owners fail to seek treatment for serious or painful injuries or illnesses.
