Why is orientation necessary prior to volunteering my time?
CAHS requires orientation so we can inform you of procedures and processes critical for the health and well-being of animals, volunteers, staff, and visitors alike. Because the shelter is constantly evolving, if you have not volunteered your time in a 6-month period, we require you attend another orientation. Click here for orientation dates and times. Preregistration required.
Do you have a set schedule for volunteers?
No. There are no set shifts or duties for volunteers. Once you’ve completed orientation, you are welcome to come and help with animals any time during the hours we are open to the public; noon to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
